Yesterday, March 2, 2026, StreetReach officially launched its mission to bring critical medical care directly to our unhoused neighbors. This collaboration between the UNR School of Public Health and Orvis School of Nursing—funded by Gilead Sciences—provides mobile wound care, HIV, Hepatitis B and C testing, and vital linkage to care to the unhoused in our community.
Day One Impact:
- 40 Connections: Our team hit the ground running, providing socks, water, personal hygiene items, coffee, and hot cocoa while building essential rapport.
- A Major Win: One individual we met visited a care center for the first time, got a hot shower, lunch, and clean clothes, and successfully scheduled appointments with both a therapist and a psych provider.
StreetReach isn’t just about medical services; it’s about meeting people where they are and building the trust needed to change lives.
