The Larson Institute for Health Impact, housed within the University of Nevada, Reno School of Public Health, translates academic research into actionable community practices that improve public health outcomes.

Through community engagement and workforce development, we build public health capacity, support state systems and mobilize community partners to advance community health and well-being.

Our History

Launched in 2015, the Larson Institute sits within the School of Public Health at the University of Nevada, Reno, in the space between public health academic research and community practice.

The Institute partners with community leaders, best in class researchers, educators, and clinicians across the UNR Schools of Public Health, Nursing, Medicine, and across Northern Nevada.
